This week marks the release of the new Spandau Ballet compilation “The Story“. While many were hoping for a full new studio album of new material, one cannot deny that at least some new material (i.e. 3 new songs) is better than nothing from the New Romantics. This week (October 13, 2014 – October 19,2014), we figured it might be a great idea to invite Spandau Ballet fans to share their favorites from Spandau Ballet’s “The Story” with the rest of the world on our 24/7 global broadcast.
The music of Spandau Ballet has been a regular staple on Radio Creme Brulee ever since we launched back in early 2007. We also take pride in being the American radio station that celebrates the legacy of Spandau Ballet like no other. True to our commitment to showcasing the band’s legacy, we are happy to announce “The Story Week“.
As part of “The Story Week“, we are accepting requests for ANY song off Spandau Ballet’s new compilation “The Story“. But we want to make this even more interesting. Send us an audio recording of your “voice request” of the song you would like to see played on Radio Creme Brulee. The “voice request” should be not more than 20 seconds long. We will play your voice request before the song. Take this opportunity to celebrate one of the defining characters in the New Romantic movement of the 80s and while doing so, get your voice heard on a global broadcast. You can listen to our station from anywhere in the world via www.radiocremebrulee.com. We are accepting requests from all corners of the globe. We will tell you in advance on what day we plan to play your request. We will play your request 8 times on that day.
So how do you do this? Here goes:
What do you need for a record request?
– A computer OR a smartphone that can record your voice
– A microphone for your computer. If not, your smartphone has an in-built recording device.
– A software that can record your voice (ALL computers have at least a “Sound Recorder” software on them). Your smartphone should have this too.
Rules for the request
– The recording must NOT be longer than 20 seconds.
What would a sample request sound like?
Here is an example:
— Hi, this is Julie from Brooklyn, New York. I would love to hear “This Is The Love” by Spandau Ballet.———-
OR
—- Hi, this is Mike from from Los Angeles. Please could by play “Only When You Leave” by Spandau Ballet.———–

We are an American internet radio station that broadcasts worldwide. The station features an eclectic mix of current pop and rock music from both sides of the Atlantic alongside hits, forgotten gems, and rarities from the last three decades. The music of Spandau Ballet is a fairly regular staple on Radio Creme Brulee. We also feature “rare for radio” tracks by the band such as “Be free with your love“, “Round And Round“, and “Once More“. Currently, “This Is Your Love” by Spandau Ballet is getting 5 plays a day on our station.
